What does it take for a change to come? Manpower? Capital? Resources?
What does it take for the change to become the norm? Persistence?
Adrija Foundation believes that for a real on-the-ground change to occur, the first and foremost requirement is to create a vision, and share that vision with each and every individual who share the zeal of bringing a real transformative change.
The second part is the mission of driving the ambitious goal towards reality by gathering momentum through persistence and intensive labour.
What is PLANT ME
PLANT ME Project encapsulates the vision and the mission of Adrija Foundation and plans to bring a sustainable change across many “gochar (rural grazing areas)” areas to prevent soil erosion, promote rural economic development & provide a revenue generation model to villages.
This project is an ambitious undertaking by Adrija Foundation across & around Vadodara district, Gujarat, India, involving plantation drive of over 60,000 plants of the following species:
- Jamun
- Goras Aamli/Bakhai Aamli
- Wood-apple
- Lemon
- Moringa/Drumsticks
- Mangoes
As the project kicks off, the plantation will help in preventing erosion on a massive level and also assist the tribal communities with economic opportunities arising from cultivation of various species.
One of the major benefactors of this project is going to be the villagers and the tribes who will not risk their livelihoods and also will not have to be displaced.
